Petition Against Illegal Immigration

Hoosier Nation is Indiana's leading advocate of American citizens, defending our jobs and our neighborhoods from the flood of illegal immigrants. In the upcoming legislative session, we anticipate that a bill will be brought to the state legislature which will crack down on illegal immigration and the powerful groups that bring the problem here. We have a well-organized strategy for making sure this bill passes, and it all hinges on Hoosiers signing our petition.

1. Read it

Dear [Legislator]:

I am a Hoosier and I demand that you pass serious legislation to protect our jobs, defend our borders, and put Americans first. I demand you pass a bill that does the following:

• Prohibits sanctuary policies for illegal aliens;
• Increases penalties for counterfeiting or falsely reproducing a driver’s license;
• Requires the Indiana Department of Corrections to check the citizenship or immigration status of adult and juvenile offenders committed to a correction facility;
• Requires the Indiana Department of Labor to use the SAVE program to determine the immigration statuses for unemployment benefit eligibility;
• Prohibits the employment of illegal immigrants by state agencies and public contractors and requires the use of the free, federal E-Verify system;
• Increases penalties for distributing counterfeit identifications;
• Increases penalties for someone who knowingly or intentionally transports, conceals, harbors or shields from detection an illegal immigrant; and
• Increases penalties to use individual tax identification numbers or consular identifications for purposes other than provided in federal law.
